Elements in my writing are relatively simple, compared to prior incarnations, and in fact on some level are pulled straight from Tales of Symphonia, kind of. That said, this isn't just going to talk about the elements themselves, it'll also be talking about other relevant subjects, such as elementals and how elements interact in magic form.

The Elements

In my writing, there are eight elements that are generally relevant, six of which embody general physical concepts, and two of which embody more spiritual concepts as well. Those elements are as follows:

  • Fire, which is probably self-explanatory, but in addition to being fire specifically, it also is relevant to extreme heat in general.
  • Ice, which is primarily genuine ice in all its forms, but more broadly it is the absence of heat, or the act of removing heat from things rather than adding it. Water-based ice just happens to be one of the most direct applications of this.
  • Air, which is of course in large part wind, but also more broadly covers gaseous matter.
  • Earth, which is fairly self-explanatory like fire, but also covers more broadly solid matter.
  • Water', which is obviously. Water. But also, to a lesser extent, liquid matter.
  • Lightning, which is possibly the most straightforward generally of all of them besides maybe fire, being obviously the phenomenon of lightning itself, but also more generally electricity in its various forms.
  • Light, which on the surface is of course the abundance of literal photons, but also generally associated with good. Generally. Not always.
  • Dark, as Light's polar opposite, is of course the absence of photons, but also to an extent evil. This isn't an ironclad association, though.

These are all of course somewhat vague, and not all aspects of these descriptions will apply in every situation.
